Vision
INCAP is a Center of Excellence recognized worldwide in the area of Prevention and Control of Nutrition-Related Chronic Diseases in Central America and the Dominican Republic.
General Purpose
To systematically strengthen the government and academic institutional capacities needed to expand actions aimed at preventing and controlling nutrition-related chronic diseases and their risk factors, through training, generation of evidence-based data, communication and diffusion of relevant information, as well as technical assistance at local and regional level in Central America and the Dominican Republic
Specific Objectives
1.To strengthen the capacity for surveillance, analysis and compilation,of data on epidemiology, quality of care and health and nutrition determinants.
2.To increase the region’s capacity to design public sectoral and intersectoral policies, evaluation programs and research applied to Nutrition-Related Chronic Diseases (NRCDs.) 3.To develop successful intervention models that can be amplified to national level for the promotion of health and prevention and treatment of NRCDs.
