Sugar role in dyslipidemia (in Spanish)
In this article review it is described a study in U.S. adult population where it was evaluated the relationship between added sugar intake and lipid profile of each person. As a recommendation of this study, it is suggested that when treating dyslipidemic patients you have to take into consideration not only the consumption of different types of fat, but of different types of carbohydrates, particularly restrict added sugar intake.

What effects do the food enviroment and dietary behaviors have on body weight?

This review, from the report of the Dietary Guidelines Advisor Committee on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010, discusses the effects of environment and eating behavior in the body weight of children, adolescents and adults. It describes the factors contributing to the increase of overweight in this country and provides recommendations for changes in individual eating behavior.

Red and processed meat consumption and risk of incidence of coronary heart disease, stroke, and diabetes mellitus (In Spanish)
It was found,  in a systematic review of more than 20 researchs around the world in which was evaluated the consumption of lean red meat and processed and their relationship with the occurrence of cardiovascular disease and diabetes; that the effect and magnitude of the incidence of coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus may vary depending on the type of meat.

The Secretariat report of the Sixty Third World Health Assambly provides an overview of progress in implementig the action plan for the global strategy for the prevention and control of non communicable diseases. It also includes a set of recommendations about the marketing of food and non-alcoholic beverages to children, in order to reduce the impact of foods high in saturated fats, trans-fatty acids, free sugars or salt.
