Organizational Structure
As shown in the chart below, CIIPEC receives guidelines from INCAP´s Board of Directors and the Higher Central American University Council (CSUCA as per its acronym in Spanish). The Steering Committee is comprised of CIIPEC´s General Coordinator, INCAP´s General Director, a representative of each participating institution in the United States, a representative of CSUCA, a representative of Mexico´s Health Secretariat and a representative of INCAP’s Board of Directors. The Institutional Coordination Department works jointly with the Ministries of Health and Universities in the region to strengthen its structures and organization. The Academic Coordination Department works jointly with the Schools and Health Departments of the Universities and other centers in charge of training human resources in the participating countries. National Networks must be multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral, with at least two focal points participating in the Regional Network´s activities (Implementation Task Force), one in the academic sector and the other in the government sector.
